Jennifer Beck is owner / photographer of JBeck Photography, which was formed in October of 2003. Jennifer has been in the photographic industry since 1994.  Stephen F. Austin State University was the beginning of Jennifer’s career in photography.  She worked for the campus newspaper and yearbook, for a local portrait and event studio, and also at the local Fox Photo lab. Jennifer graduated in May of 1997 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts concentrated in photography and computer imaging.  Originally from Houston, Texas, Jennifer returned home and worked assisting established photographers introducing her to the many disciplines of the industry.

In January of 1998, Jennifer was fortunate to join Gittings Portraiture as one of their executive portrait photographers.  “The Gittings School” eventually offered her experience on location and in the studio; high-end portraiture, weddings, corporate events, and studio administration.  In late 1999, she was transferred to Dallas becoming a part of the studio and heading the executive portrait division photographing the Dallas affluent.

 

In 2003, Jennifer took her valued Gittings experience and went out on her own as JBeck Photography. Thankfully, the business has done well and she constantly strives to provide the same professional quality on which Jennifer’s foundation is built. 

JBeck Photography is certified as a Women Owned Business through the Women’s Business Council-Southwest, a HUB through the State of Texas and the Texas Building & Procurement Commission. Jennifer is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers and Commercial Photographers International.  She has also been a member of the Allen Chamber of Commerce since 2004 and is now a member of the Plano Chamber.

 

Jennifer currently lives in Plano, Texas with her husband Eric.  They have 2 dogs; Dottie (black lab) and Holly (miniature dachshund).
